Karadal holds master’s (1994) and doctorate (1999) degrees from Çukurova University, Social  Sciences Institute, Department of Business Administration. In 2009, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor in the field of Management and Organization. He is faculty member in and Chair of the Management and Organization department at Aksaray University. He is currently the member of faculty committee and faculty administration board. He also acts as the academic consultant of Aksaray University Business and Administration Community, Administration Committee Consultant of Aksaray Chamber of Commerce and Industry, International Relations Coordinator of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Area Coordinator in the project of ‘Developing Aksaray Province Improvement Plan’.  Himmet Karadal is also the referee and editorial board member of various academic journals.

                   Karadal’s major areas of interests include entrepreneurship, SMEs, crisis administration, knowledge management, human resources management and organizational behaviour. Karadal published approximately 50 scientific studies in international and national refereed journals, books, book parts, and proceedings in academic meetings. Furthermore, he wrote articles and had interviews on career and strategy published by various newspapers and magazines. He participated in more than 30 seminars, conferences, panels and television programs as speaker on the development of business and on the future of Aksaray province. Karadal teaches undergraduate and graduate courses of Business Science, Sociology, Management and Organization, Organizational Behaviour, Business Administration, Management Theories, Information Management Systems, Strategic Management, and Human Resources Management.

                   Being one of the founders of Public Administration Research Association (KAYAD), he ran the duty of KAYAD Strategy Development Chair between the years of 2005-2008. He provide support to the enterprises operating in Aksaray KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization) Aksaray Synergy Focus (founded in 2005) Chairman for nearly three years. He gave support to Aksaray Governorship as a consultant of Unique Stop Office in order to develop investments in Aksaray.
